Coming down to the wire. I'm finally feeling confident in my physical ability to make the continent crossing. That's not to say that I won't be suffering for the first few weeks at least but I'm reasonably comfortable on training rides now. I've been riding a 25 mile loop around Samish Island about 5 days a week.
I've gone on a couple of 4 hour hikes and I'm sure the cross training is good for me. Oyster Dome on Blanchard Mountain is close to home and such a beautiful hike capped by the stunning view on top.
I'm still gathering equipment but my last hurdle will be the bicycle transport logistics. I've looked at "Bike Flights.com" and it should be pretty painless. Nick at "Bike Spot" will help me box up my Co-Motion for the Fed-Ex pick up. The details at the other end are still an unknown for me. I'm tempted to assemble the bike myself when I get there but would probably be better off if I left it to a bike shop.
