Day 23, TX, Marathon to Sanderson

In the time zone change we get up about 7:00 with sunrise at 7:40, not that you could tell today.
Another cold, foggy one pretty much all day. Marathon was sunny and relatively warm yesterday but the fog settled in over night and held the temps just above freezing in the 54 miles to the next town. With nothing inbetween, not even an abandoned gas station, I felt vulnerable to the weather. I expected cold temps on this trip but didn't think it would stay near freezing all day. I would've brought more cold weather gear had I known.
Michael took this picture. He was at the Hostel with us and rode to Sanderson with us today.
We stopped at the first motel in Sanderson and got a nice room for $48. Rarely has a hot shower felt better!
They didn't care if Michael slept on the floor so that will save him some money.
Jim toured the "town" and the best place to eat is the gas station/mini mart across the street.

54 miles @ 13.4 mph avg.
