Day 41, LA, Ville Platte to Simmesport

ILeaving our luxury accommodations, we ran into downtown Ville Platte to find some breakfast. The only food was fast.
On the way there was a fender-bending accident in an intersection right behind us. That can happen anywhere, right?
Chicot Lake, according to the bridge (the bridge was my age, probably wasn't safe).
A little further on we rode through Chicot State Park.
A different bridge across the edge of Chicot Lake.
The roads we are routed on through the parks are pretty and almost empty.
Stopping to discuss routing on the way to Bunkie, LA.
Lunch was a Subway sandwich in Cottonport. Temps were mid 60's, perfect for riding but for the headwind 90% of the ride today.
I called the "warmshowers" in Simmesport during lunch and Henry answered saying we could spend the night.
I put up my tent under the porch of his biker's quarters. Jim stayed inside.
58 miles today.
